Squalicum Choirs at Solo and Ensemble Competition

Hi Everyone,

Our Solo and Ensemble competition this year was so fun! every one did so well and I am so proud of our representation at the festival. Here are the results from my students that competed. I will list you if you placed. If you are not listed you did not place, and we will go over your scores when I receive them sometime next week. Congratulations to all!

Storm Men's Ensemble - Going to state!! No I am not Joking.

Alec Smith - Going to State!! I had a hunch.

Aidan Woods - G0ing to State!! Gingers conquer!

Allegra Nichols - First Alternate!! You got beat out by a girl from Mt Vernon and a girl from Sedro Wolly. Not who you thought! and it looks like you just missed it. Congratulations!

Storm Women's Ensemble - First Alternate!! We beat out every one but M.V.!! Dang it Dang it Dang it! you guys performed sooooo well. I was very happy with our performance. They must have performed perfectly because you girls left it all on the stage today and didn't look back. Considering the several other Women's ensembles that were there and of high quality, we should feel very happy with that placement.

Alec and Jeremiah - First Alternate! you guys did a fantastic job today I wish I could have seen the group that beat you out.

Jake Cowin - First Alternate Piano! Nice work Jake!

Westy Sommerton - Second Alternate. I thought you had it tied up! I am looking forward to seeing the judges marks. In any case I thought you owned it up there.

And those are the winners from SqHS. Whether you made that list or not, every performance today was a break through in its own way and I am so thankful to be working with such a fine group of dedicated choral artists who take pride in what they do. Lets keep that tradition strong at SqHS.
