Looking Ahead for Tour

Dear returning choir Students and Parents,

What an incredible year we had this year!! I am really looking forward to next year now and anticipating a lot of change and advancement in a good way. I feel it is time for SQHS choir to move to the next level and I think this is the group that is going to get us there. I am already finding great music and planning events for our groups next year. Lets rock!

Now, in terms of our department trip next year- thank you so much for giving us good feedback from all perspectives, it has been very helpful. In considering this feedback, the three of us met and decided to “rewind” and try to take a different approach to our trip. Our number one goal is inclusion of all students, and we’ve reconsidered and decided together that perhaps now is not the best time for an overseas trip, with gas prices and the economy, etc.

So, we just wanted to let you know that we are rethinking this a bit, and are scheduled to meet together on Tuesday, and we will hopefully send out some more information and opportunities to vote on perhaps two completely places.

We know that many of you will be disappointed, as are we, that we won’t be able to “take the plunge” and go for Europe this coming year… but we think that what we hopefully come up with will be a much more inclusive, feasible trip for any student who would like to participate. The three of us truly believe in the value of traveling and seeing the world from different views, and we will just try for a place slightly closer to home- in terms of miles and dollars.
