We have a very packed December and Here are a few pieces of information that you need to know
1. Choraliers are having a "lock-in" here in the music room at SQHS on Friday November 30th from 5:30 to 11pm. Part of our activities will be watching the Basketball game and doing some rehearsing. Permission slips should be coming home tomorrow
2. The Tickets for "The Coats" Concert haven't been selling like I thought they would. Either we don't have as much interest as I thought (which is unlikely considering the incredible concert we had last year) or people are waiting to the last minute to get their tickets. THURSDAY is the last day to buy tickets at the SQHS ASB office. (tickets will be availaible at the door but dont chance it!) Send money with your Student and make sure you get a ticket to a wonderful start to the holiday season. Tickets are $15. Ask any one who went last year and the'll tell you its worth it. In fact, they do the same show at Benaroya hall in Seattle and sell it out for 5 nights in a row! and the tickets are $30 each! Check this out if you are still not convinced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBwZk-G0VRg&feature=related
3. The Choir concert on December 4th has an additional component as of last Friday. The Orchestra got ousted out of their date on Wednesday because there is a home game that was scheduled during their performance time. We have invited them to come and play on our concert night. December 4th (next Tuesday). The schedule will be.
6:30 Orchestra Concert starts
7:45 Orchestra concert is over
7:45-8pm Choir boosters sell Cookies like crazy!! (See below for details)
8:00 Choir concert starts
9:15 Choir concert is over
It will make for a late night but better than the orchestra not getting a chance to perform their music. And I encourage you to come to their portion of the concert! It will be a great night of music.
4. BRING YOUR COOKIES for CHOIR!
The parent Booster Club is hosting the second annual cookie sale to accompany our lovely Winter Choir concert on Dec. 4th.
Please bring cookies to the concert this Tuesday night. Orchestra starts at 6:30 p.m., and choir at 8:00 p.m. -- you can bring cookies before either. We will sell cookies for 50 cents each, and we will provide plates so you can mix and match and buy as many cookies as you would like. It is for a good cause (what could be better than our musical kidsi?!). If you bring gluten or nut free, please label them as such and we will be sure to get the word out. Thanks!
That is all for now. Keep a song in your heart and an eye to the calendar for all the upcoming performances and rehearsals that are going on in the next few weeks. :)
In Harmony,
Marshall
